Formal Education

MA Dramatherapy - I undertook my Masters Degree in Dramatherapy at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge under the tutelage of many eminent Drama and Music Therapists. This particular training is celebrated for its emphasis on psychoanalytic theory and practitioners, evidence based practice and also for facilitating two different strands of creative arts therapies to learn alongside, inform and inspire one another. This offers a unique experience and insight to those who are lucky enough to study at ARU.

I was awarded a Distinction for my MA thesis which focused on working with adolescents, particularly young offenders, on a one-to-one basis, within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team.

Testimonial

"Emma has persevered with children who were extrememly difficult to engage who had endured other failed interventions. She has been reliable and consistent, open and honest in supervison and has shown great compassion towards the children. Her play with the children has been creative. This coupled with her gentle approach has been extremely successful with the children she has worked with. The children have been given total autonomy whilst boundaries have been held. The children have been able to work through any issues that were bothering them in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Emma is a gifted children's counsellor and I would highly recommend her with no reservations. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma. She is a much valued member of my team."
